Ashley Borders Wants More Kids - With or Without a Man

So, is the #SouthernCharmSAV star dating anyone?

Ashley Borders Gives an Update on Her Marriage

Southern Charm Savannah's Ashley Borders does not have the most conventional relationship with her husband, Dennis. When Ashley was 19, she got pregnant with her now 11-year-old son Izzy and has been with Dennis ever since. Unfortunately, the two have fallen out of love, and after 12 years, they ended up, as she says, "essentially friends who live together." As we saw this season, Ashley wants more from life and finally told Dennis it was time for a divorce.

When asked how the single life is going, Ashley told The Daily Dish Podcast that dating is "the last thing that I could handle right now. I’m really happy just kind of being a mom and focusing on my life and not worrying about someone else right now." It's not that she's a serial monogamist, but rather that she hates to date — particularly because of the small talk that comes with dating. For Ashley, relationships should stem from friendships that progress naturally over time rather than from a random person asking her out: "People are so fake and phony sometimes," Ashley said, "so I feel like me in a relationship is like if it happens, it happens. It’s going to be natural."

She's not pessimistic though, as she hopes to find Mr. Right one day. If she doesn't though, Ashley said that adoption could be in her future: "I want more kids. Being a mom is my favorite thing on the planet. It’s my favorite job I’ve ever done. But you know, when the situation’s right. Otherwise I’m fine on my own. I can keep myself busy. And I have Izzy. He’s the coolest little partner ever."
