Ashlee Holmes Malleo and Pete Malleo Confirm They Are Getting a Divorce

Ashlee Holmes Malleo and Pete Malleo have decided to move forward with getting a divorce more than a year after they first announced their separation.

The former couple, who previously appeared in Season 7 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, confirmed their divorce in separate statements to Page Six addressing their current relationship status. Pete confirmed that he was single and that he and Ashlee "are going through a divorce." Ashlee separately told the publication that she and Pete "have been separated since August," and they "filed in October."

"Ashlee and I have been separated and living apart since August and we are currently going through a divorce," Pete added in another statement to Us Weekly. "At this point, I am focused only on our son and continuing to show him unconditional love. As such, I will not be making any further comment to any news outlets. I am hopeful that Ashlee and I can resolve our divorce in a private manner outside of the public eye for the sake of our son."

Ashlee, who is the daughter of RHONJ alum Jacqueline Laurita, and Pete got engaged in 2016 after about a year of dating. Later that year, they welcomed their first child, son Cameron Hendrix Malleo. Nearly two years later, Ashlee and Pete got married at the City Clerk's Office in Manhattan in August 2018.

In July of 2020, Ashlee announced on Instagram that she and Pete had decided to separate. “I’ve been trying to find the right words to share this news," Ashlee said of her separation at the time. "It’s something that has been weighing pretty heavy on my heart, and I feel that it’s best for my healing process to just put it out there."

Ashlee went on to say that she and Pete would keep things amicable amid their split and focus on successfully co-parenting their son. "Pete and I have been through so much together over the last ten years of our lives as not only best friends, but partners in navigating parenthood. This was a difficult decision for us. We intend to always be in each other’s lives, and continue to support one another as we grow as individuals," she shared. "We will continue being loving, dedicated parents to our son Cameron, who we both love more than anything. Our new goal in our journey through life together is to become the best co-parents that we are capable of being. Regardless of your opinions, we ask that you please think of our son and try your best to respect our family during this time."

However, by February of this year, it appeared that Ashlee and Pete were back together, sharing a romantic day out in Las Vegas, followed by a Valentine's Day message on Instagram. "Happy Valentine’s Day @petemalleo. We spent most of 2020 separated. It’s been complicated," Ashlee wrote. "We recently reached a point where we had a choice to either grow apart, or grow together."

She concluded the post, "I’m grateful we made it here. I’m grateful for therapy. I’m grateful for us choosing to grow together instead of growing further apart. Cameron and I love you. We’re lucky you’re ours. Thank you for being such a great Dad, and for always making us laugh. Here’s to (hopefully) a lifetime of coming back to the table."

Ashlee and Pete spent time with Cameron and their family over the next several months and even welcomed a new addition: an adorable dog named Arlo.

Cameron turned 5 years old on August 30, a day that was celebrated by both of his parents on Instagram. "The days are long, but the years are short. I can’t believe my baby is 5 years old today," Ashlee gushed in a post that featured home movies of Cameron over the years. "My funny best friend. I love you always, forever. Happy birthday Cameron Hendrix Malleo."

For now, Ashlee is focusing on one very special guy: her son, Cameron, of course. "My whole world," she captioned a photo of herself and Cameron on November 8, her most recent post on Instagram as of press time.
