Are the Dancing Queens Friends Off the Dance Floor? Some Have Different Opinions Now
One member of the Dancing Queens cast shared there's not a lot of love lost between her and the other ladies.
The competition is always fierce on the ballroom dance floor, and though they find themselves socializing at competitions, that doesn’t necessarily mean the ladies of Dancing Queens are besties.
Sabrina Strasser said on the show another word for dance friend is F-R-E-N-E-N-Y (whoops on that misspelling!), and in a new interview with Bravo she confirms — she hasn’t changed her mind since filming.
Sabrina Calls the Dancing Queens Cast Her Co-Workers, Not Friends
Sabrina told The Daily Dish she’d never met most of the women before the show filmed, although she’d competed against Colette Marotto. She did admit the cast does have a group text chat — but she tries not to talk too much.
“I’m noticing there are some really sweet women, and sometimes not so sweet,” Sabrina said. “I feel like there is a definite underlying competitiveness between us.”
Sabrina's tension with the other women was shown throughout the show, such as when Sabrina was late for a gathering.
“They didn’t hate me because I was late, they hate me because I won,” Strasser said on the show.
Although she visited Gaëlle Benchetrit’s spa in New York City, Sabrina emphasized she’s not close friends with the other women.
“I have to realize these are not my best friends, these are my co-workers,” Strasser said in the interview. “And we’re friendly, and we support each other on the show. But these are not women I would turn to with problems or with issues. It’s just mainly about the show.”
Donie's Friendships Go Beyond The Ballroom
Sabrina's fellow dancer Donie Burch has a different view, telling The Daily Dish in an interview she herself chats with all the women outside the show.
“Even though those people may say little quips or say things about me and vice versa, me about them, I am a people pleaser and I want everybody to get along,” Donie said.
Donie shared she’s sympathetic to things like when Sabrina missed her daughter’s gymnastics meet to be at a dance competition.
“I still want to reach out to her and just be like, you know, I hope watching this episode was fine for you,” Donie said. “I know you’re a good mom.”
Donie also revealed the castmate on Dancing Queens with whom she’s friendliest is Gaelle.
“I am going to a concert with Gaëlle. And I saw her earlier this week at her clinic, so I’m very close with her,” Donie said. “She would be the person that I see the most often.”

Donie has also been friends with Leonie Biggs since they met in 2019 — sharing early in the season they often get pedicures and grab coffee together.
“Donie and I met at a group performance about three years ago that was so bad, but the one good thing I got out of that was her friendship,” Leonie said on the show.
Where Do Pooja and Colette Stand Now?
During the season, we saw other conflict, as Pooja Mehta and Colette shared the same professional partner, Kristijan Burazer, and he was forced to choose — ultimately partnering with Pooja over Colette. Despite Colette confronting Pooja, Pooja says the two are actually on better terms now.
“I think I said everything that I wanted to say,” Pooja told The Daily Dish. “I’m glad we had the conversation. It diluted the tension that I didn’t believe was ever there, but she thought was. It’s definitely better off now.”
