Why Andy Cohen Is "Really Excited" About RHOA Season 16 (EXCLUSIVE)
WWHL host Andy Cohen teased that one 'Wife is "a breath of fresh air."
Shortly before the New Year, Andy Cohen exclusively revealed what he was looking forward to in the Bravo world for 2025.
The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host caught up with The Daily Dish on December 11, and he teased why he's looking forward to Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
"I'm really excited about The Real Housewives of Atlanta. I think people have been waiting a long time to see what we’ve done. We’ve got great new housewives," he said. "We’ve got the return of Porsha [Williams], we’ve got the return of Phaedra [Parks]. Shamea [Morton Mwangi] is is a full housewife. I mean, she’s someone that we’ve been seeing for years and years, but seeing her in this way is totally a breath of fresh air."
What's more, Andy previously reacted to Porsha's return on an episode of WWHL back in February 2024.
"It's time for my Mazel of the day, it goes to the news — this is so good — that Porsha [Williams] will be making her triumphant return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta," Andy said during the closing moments of the episode. "This is such a huge moment."
Who's joining the cast of RHOA for Season 16?
RHOA Season 16 will see the highly-anticipated return of both Porsha and Phaedra.
Porsha departed from the series following Season 13 after eight seasons as a 'wife.
Phaedra, on the other hand, exited RHOA after Season 8. In addition to Shamea's promotion to full-time 'wife (she previously appeared on the series as a friend), Season 16 will see the debuts of three newbies, Brittany Eady and Kelli Ferrell, and Angela Oakley.
Porsha Williams teases her return to RHOA Season 16
During an appearance at Bravo Fan Fest in Miami on November 23, Porsha told People that she had to "recalibrate" when she returned to filming after a few years away from RHOA.
"The first day of filming, I kid you not, I felt like a rookie," she told the outlet. "I promise you, I stopped midway, and I was like, 'Am I supposed to be looking this way?' It took me a minute to recalibrate and make the cameras invisible again."
She also teased that she put up some boundaries regarding what she would talk about with certain castmates as she continues to navigate her divorce from Simon Guobadia.
"I really got into therapy and a big part of therapy was her suggesting self-preservation, which is hard to do when you're in an ensemble cast and you have to speak about your life," she continued. "But I really had boundaries about what I would open up to with some of the other girls and what I would not. So just kind of like being and protecting myself, but also being with everyone else has been a good thing for me."
