Ally Reveals What She Really Thinks about James and Lala’s Friendship: "I Was Hesitant"
Ally said that over time she's come to see that Lala is "literally James in a girl form."
Dynamic duos from opposite coasts shared the stage at Caesars Forum on Day 3 of BravoCon 2023 on Nov. 5 in Las Vegas.
The double-date panel talk called "Bravoleb Couples Part 2” featured The Real Housewives of New Jersey spouses Teresa Giudice and Luis Ruelas and Vanderpump Rules’ Ally Lewber and James Kennedy, who've been together for a year and seven months.
Moderator Daryn Carp noted that as reality TV is filled with messy relationships and breakups, she applauded the two couples for rocking steady. Daryn then lobbed some fun, light questions to the foursome to find out who’s funnier, more romantic, more stubborn, and the better dancer, among other queries.
But things got deeper and more real when an audience member raised the the topic of James friendship with fellow Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent.

Ally hesitation about James and Lala’s friendship
As viewers know, James and Lala share lots of loaded history. That includes hooking up in Chicago as well as a pasta fight when the proverbial ziti hit the fan. And while they've never formally dated, that past fling, as well as their flirty and fiery conversations, have led many to wonder if there will ever be something more between the two.
So, a Bravo fan posed the to Ally: "How do you feel about James and Lala’s friendship given that she's single and [considering] their history and interaction?"
Ally seemed almost stoked to respond: “Honestly, this is the first time I've gotten this question,” she said.
“At first … I think I was nervous going into it. But then when I met her she really was amazing. And she's almost been like a big sister to me, and I really love her and appreciate her and respect her a lot," she explained.
Ally reflected on the delicate dynamics of the situation, noting the similarities between the two are strong.
“I feel like at first I was a little hesitant, but now I love her. And I tell her all the time, I'm like, she's literally James in a girl form. And I love James, so love her too," she said.
