Alexis Bellino proved this on Sunday, May 19, after sending her oldest son, James Bellino, off to senior prom. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum documented the milestone in a heartwarming Instagram post, in which she also reflected on her son’s next chapter.
“Senior Prom 2024. Where did time go???” she captioned the photo collection. “I’m still in denial. You are not leaving my nest in 2 months, oh wait. Crap, Uh, hum. Yes you are. Dang!!!!!!”

The Instagram showed James and his date, Bella, dressed to the nines as they prepared to hit their end-of-year formal. James donned a sharp light gray suit with a white dress shirt, a patterned tie, and a pale yellow boutonniere that matched Bella’s dress. One of the photos captured the OC son posing with his momma and her boyfriend, John Janssen.
“I love you both so much!!!” Alexis’ caption continued. “You have ALL of our support and love in your next chapter. Let your wings fly my sweet babies!!!!!!!!! [hashtag] forever my baby.”
The post received more than 1,500 “likes” and dozens of messages, with many fans commenting on how tall James had gotten. RHOC mom Heather Dubrow was among those who took to the comments section, leaving a series of red heart emojis.

Alexis Bellino and Jim Bellino celebrate their son James' 18th birthday
Alexis shares James with her ex-husband Jim Bellino, whom she married in 2005. Less than two years after James was born, the former couple welcomed a set of twins: a son named Miles and a daughter named Mackenna.
Weeks before his senior prom night, James rang in his 18th birthday surrounded by friends and family. Alexis shared a look at the celebration in a May 5 Instagram video, which included some of her most memorable moments with James. We’re talking everything from family vacations and pool days to his junior high graduation and his first day as a high school freshman.
“Happy 18th birthday my sweet son,” she captioned the post. “My first born…You taught me how to be a mom. You are accomplishing so much in this life already!!!! I love you so much. Your heart for Christ will lead you everywhere you need to be. I’m so sad to watch you go but excited for your wings to fly baby boy.”
Alexis’ ex-husband, Jim, also celebrated the milestone birthday in a May 4 Instagram photo that showed him and his son at his Palm Springs restaurant.
“Happy 18th birthday to my amazing son!” he captioned the post. “Time flies enjoy your kids. Amazing dinner at Jimmy Bs last night with James and Bella.”
