Aesha Scott Responds to João Franco's Comments on Their Post-Below Deck Med Relationship
The Below Deck Mediterranean stew sets the record straight on why she blocked the bosun.
The Sirocco crew members may have started the season as strangers, but it seemed like they disembarked the boat as family as they bid each other a fond farewell in the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4 finale Monday night.
But last month, we learned that not all of those friendships lasted for João Franco, who said during his September 9 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that he doesn't talk to Hannah Ferrier or Aesha Scott these days. What's more, João said that Aesha even blocked him on social media.
When Aesha returned to the Clubhouse on September 30, she had something to say about João's previous comments (clip above). "I noticed when he was last on Watch What Happens Live when he mentioned like, 'Oh, I don't understand why Aesha blocked me. We left such good friends,'" she said. "The reality is he bullied me every single day onboard. He never stopped judging me and criticizing me. When we left, you'll notice on the last episode tonight, I didn't even hug him goodbye. I was so sick of him treating me like crap. So I don't know where he gets this from that we left such good friends."
Aesha also confirmed on WWHL that she still doesn't speak to João. Although she noted that João would "do fine" in the new captain role he received in the Below Deck Med Season 4 finale because of his "good work ethic," she said that she's not signing on to be a part of his crew anytime soon. When one caller asked if Aesha or her fellow WWHL guest Anastasia Surmava would work under Captain João, the Kiwi said during the After Show, "Hell to the no! Is that a joke?"
Well, at least João can take some comfort in knowing that he has Captain Sandy Yawn's support. "@Joaograntfranco did an amazing job this season and I think he will make a wonderful Captain!" the Below Deck Med boss gushed on Twitter. "So Proud Capt Joao!"
