Top Chef Finalists Adrienne Cheatham and Joe Flamm Open Up About Fatima Ali's Cancer Battle

From the moment Fatima Ali  first shared the news of her cancer diagnosis in late 2017, the Bravo's Top Chef family has been by her side supporting her through her journey. And in the wake of Fatima confirming her cancer has returned and she's only been given one year to live by her medical team, the Top Chef squad has stepped up and shown their love and support for her. In addition to public words of encouragement, fellow Season 15 Cheftestant Adrienne Cheatham launched a GoFundMe page to, as she put it, "Let’s join together in helping Fati experience all that life has to offer this year. She has so bravely and courageously shared so much of herself with us, inspiring so many to keep fighting and reminding us to appreciate life. Let’s help her get the most out of the life she has been given!"

All the money raised will go to helping Fatima out financially, with any unused funds going to the Sarcoma Foundation of America for research to find a cure for Ewing’s sarcoma, the type of cancer Fatima has.

The Season 15 Fan Favorite winner confirmed her prognosis in an emotional article written for Bon Appétit this week. Fatima shared in the essay that she had received bad news from her doctors in September: "The cancer cells my doctors believed had vanished are back with a vengeance in my left hip and femur bone. My oncologist has told me that I have a year to live, with or without the new chemotherapy regimen," Fatima wrote. "I was looking forward to being 30, flirty, and thriving. Guess I have to step it up on the flirting. I have no time to lose."
