Erin Lichy Gushes Over Husband Abe’s “Sweet” Defense of Her: “Shows How Much He...”
Abe the Babe saved the day by blurting something out at Jessel's Clueless-themed birthday bash.
The man colloquially known as Abe the Babe on The Real Housewives of New York City has proven himself a worthy mender of fractured friendships.
Abe Lichy unwittingly helped his wife, Erin Lichy, iron things out with fashion icon Jenna Lyons while at Jessel Taank’s Clueless-themed birthday bash, as seen in Season 15, Episode 5. In the following episode, Erin expressed how much she appreciated Abe inserting himself into the drama to help the women reconcile, which was nothing short of a noble feat.
“It shows how much he loves me,” Erin said in her confessional in Season 15, Episode 6. “It’s just very touching to me.”
Erin Lichy thanks Abe Lichy for his help
While getting ready for their Cinco de Mayo party, Erin thanked her husband, with whom she shares three children, for the “sweet” way he came to her defense. Because of Abe speaking up, Erin and Jenna were now back to texting on a near-daily basis.
“It’s really sweet that Abe spoke to Jenna, even though maybe I didn’t want him to do that at that moment,” Erin told producers in the recent episode. “It just shows that he’s going out of his way to be there for me.”
The gesture follows the “major shock” Erin confessed earlier this season when learning Abe sold “a good amount” of Bitcoin without ever consulting her. Perhaps Abe’s heroic efforts are a sign of things looking on the up and up between husband and wife.
What happened to Erin and Jenna’s relationship?
At Jessel’s party in Season 15, Episode 5, Erin admitted to the others, including Sai De Silva, that she felt Jenna wasn’t being ”an actual friend.”
“My friendships are about an authentic connection,” Erin told Sai. “I was such a good friend to her.”
Erin was upset that in light of having a “tough year,” between taking care of three children, her mother’s cancer diagnosis, and troubles on the marital front, Jenna had gone radio silent. According to Erin, Jenna failed to reach out and extend her support when she needed her friends to “band together” and rally around her.
Erin maintained she was “not interested” in keeping her and Jenna’s friendship intact until Abe — without Erin’s knowledge — approached Jenna at the party.
Jenna, hilariously in character as Clueless' no-nonsense attorney Mel Horowitz, was otherwise unaware that Erin had an issue. Then, Abe and Jenna had their own side-chat happening.
“I feel like you and Erin, there’s just unresolved tension,” Abe told the Housewife.
Jenna was clueless about what Erin’s husband was saying.
“I wasn’t gonna get involved,” Abe later told producers. “I wasn’t really thinking, and it just came out.”
Jenna approached Erin and the others, and Erin was able to convey what had been bothering her. The result? Jenna agreed to reach out more, something she admitted she “struggled” with in many of her friendships. Translation: It wasn’t personal.
“I think what it comes down to is she wants more from me, and I’m not always that good at constant communication,” Jenna said in her confessional.
Luckily, Erin and Jenna were able to have a necessary conversation and reignite their connection.
