8 Ways to Sparkle Like a Real Housewife on New Year's Eve

There's a shiny new decade on the horizon. So whether your New Year's Eve plans call for dressing up in black-tie duds or crawling under a weighted blanket to eat ramen, please promise us one thing: You'll wear a little sparkle as you ring in 2020.

After all, the last day of the year traditionally calls for anything that glitters — but we're approaching the last day of the decade. This calls for shine on steroids. And if you need a little inspiration to help pull together your holiday look, we know a few Housewives who can help. 

As Bravo fans know, 'Wives from coast to coast love to get their glitter on. (We'll just leave this here.) Below, we've rounded up some of the most sparkling Housewives looks of the year. From Kyle Richards' glistening green dress to Nene Leakes' goddess-inspired gown, these festive looks will help you brighten up any bash. (And PS: Who says you can't wear sequin-encrusted sweats under that weighted blanket? Have you seen how Sonja Morgan does lounging at home?)

The Real Housewives of Potomac trendsetter made our rainbow-loving hearts skip a beat when she wore a sequined dress from Dress the Population. In glittering hues of purple, gold, and blue, the dress brings a welcome pop of color to formal attire. Robyn paired hers with some jewel-studded sandals and a simple gold bracelet. As for that pose, sadly, swagger like that isn't available in stores. But you can shop a similar dress from Forest Lilly ($96.00), and it's currently on sale.  

With her Sonja by Sonja Morgan fashion label, The Real Housewives of New York City designer brings us tons of cute super affordable dresses. Sonja herself has been known to sport her own creations around town, and has worn the glittering look above to galas and nights out on the dance floor. Nab the All That Glitters Mini Dress ($155.95) for yourself, and see how many ways you can rock it. Oh, and those sequined joggers ($87.95) we mentioned above? You might want to get those for your New Year's Day mimosa brunch.  

For her 40th birthday celebration, Melissa Gorga draped herself in head-to-toe sparkles. But instead of wearing a party dress, The Real Housewives of New Jersey beauty opted for a skintight jumpsuit by Walter Collection. Granted, the exact Venus Jumpsuit ($1,495) that Melissa wore is a special-order item that takes a few weeks to ship — but we think it's worth the wait. And in the meantime, you can nab your own sparkling jumpsuit ($328) before the decade closes out.  

The RHOBH OG brought the glitter to BravoCon, where she posed on the Bravo-blue carpet in glistening green. The slouchy robe dress looks comfy and flirty all at once, and it's embellished with sequins and velvet. (What can be more festive?) Take a cue from this shimmering Nene Leakes look, and ring in the New Year looking like a Grecian goddess. Inspired by The Real Housewives of Atlanta OG's outfit in the photo above, we had to track down a golden slip dress ($282) for ourselves. (PS: As evidenced in Nene's snap, this look even works well at home, on the couch. See? Your New Year's Eve Bravo binge just got more stylish!)

You didn't look as festive as Gizelle while trimming your Christmas tree this year? Don't fret. You still have time to mimic her sparkling style at your New Year's party. Inspired by the Potomac 'Wife's flowing, extra sparkly silver pants, we tracked down some glittering trousers ($500) to shop stat. Gizelle paired hers with an off-the-shoulder, puff-sleeve shirt and a glittering headband.

Let Lisa's sparkling pantsuit inspire you to ring in the New Year like a boss. Designed by Bravo alum Rachel Zoe, the same Rixley Fluid Sequin blazer ($425) and pants ($395) that Lisa wore are still available to shop in silver. If you really want to play it up Lisa-style, slick your hair back and toss on some giant hoop earrings. You might want to invest in a sexy black bustier ($58), too. 

For her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 9 reunion look, Dorit brought on the sparkle in a silver cocktail dress from Balmain. The short, open-neck dress really makes a statement, so don't wear this if being stared at makes you squirm. However, if you're a natural-born drama queen — and did very well with your paychecks this year — pick up the sequin-embellished mini dress ($7,412) for yourself.
