See the Gorgeous Cottage Where Patricia Altschul's Butler Michael Lives
The Southern Charm matriarch shared a look at her beloved butler's house, located on her property.
Patricia Altschul’s iconic Charleston home, the Isaac Jenkins Mikell House, runs like a well-oiled machine, thanks in large part to her beloved butler, Michael Kelcourse. But it turns out Michael has a pretty charming abode of his own, as Patricia recently revealed in an Instagram post.
Back in 2019, Patricia clarified whether Michael lives in her historic manse, confirming that he actually resides in a cottage on the same property. Now, she’s spilling even more details about the place that he calls home. On January 9, the Southern Charm matriarch took to Instagram to answer some fans’ questions about Michael’s residence.
“People are curious about #michaelthebutler ... he lives in this cottage on the property which was built in the late 1700’s. It was remodeled and has a bedroom and bath… living room, dining area with a fireplace and a chef’s kitchen,” she explained alongside a photo of the beautiful home. “We also added new heat and air conditioning.”
Patricia went on to elaborate on Michael's vital role in her household, writing, “He has worked for me for 17 years and is in charge of the household staff. Michael trained in Europe as a professional butler however we consider him to be a member of the family.”
