Landon Clements Reflects on Her Marriage on What Would Have Been Her 10th Anniversary: "It Is Sort of Bittersweet"
The Southern Charm alum looked back on her special day with some nostalgia, but also admitted to a major lesson she learned.
Though Southern Charm viewers first got to know Landon Clements as a fun-loving single girl, the interior-design pro was formerly a Mrs. — Landon met the British businessman James Maby when she was just 24 years old, and a decade ago, she married him.
Though the marriage didn't last (watch the clip above for more on that), the Bravo alum still acknowledged what would have been a milestone anniversary on October 24.
To caption a black-and-white photo of herself as a bride, walking down the aisle with her dad, Landon shared thoughts that were both sentimental and sage. Here's what she had to say:
"My sister in law (ex) just reached out to wish me a happy what would have been my 10th wedding anniversary. It is sort of bittersweet but if something is not working for you find the strength to walk away. Learn the lessons and try to keep a smile on your face," she wrote.
Then, she added sweetly: "One of my favorite moments from that day is right here with my Daddy. Sadly, there are no good photos with my Mother as she was scrambling around helping everyone else because there was a full on hurricane outside these church walls. To everyone that was there that day thank you and I love you. And to everyone who needs a new direction in life go for it don’t be afraid, it’s ok to talk about things that hurt it’s the only way to get past them."
Also on the sweet side of the bittersweet spectrum: Landon is still a devoted stepmom to James' daughter Lola. "You don't divorce children," she's previously said.
