How Long Has Asa Known La Toya Jackson?

Bravotv.com: How are things with Jermaine? Do you think there could be wedding bells in the near future for you guys?
Asa Soltan Rahmati: Jermaine and I are so in love and also best friends. We both feel very grateful for each other. Everything the future holds that involves the two of us will be gorgeous.
Bravotv.com: Are you and La Toya Jackson close? When did you first meet? What did she think of the collection?
ASR: I met Auntie La Toya about 6 years ago at a family gathering. I was so happy to have her at the Asa Kaftans Fashion Show. She LOVED the show and the collection. In fact, she had a wish list of kaftans and jewelry pieces after the show. Auntie La Toya is an icon of all things glamour.
Bravotv.com: Were you happy with how the show turned out?
ASR: So happy with how the show turned out. It was stressful though with so many moving parts, which required a lot of focus and hard work. I loved the looks, the crowd was amazing, and everybody LOVED the show. And how special to have my music playing at my own fashion show? It was a proud moment for me.
Plus, an important part of the day was that we raised a lot of money for City of Hope, which made me very happy. The entire show went to charity, including all the kaftan looks and a large number of auctioned items.
Bravotv.com: What's next for your kaftan line? Would you consider doing a kaftan line for men?
ASR: Asa Kaftans are blowing up and it's so exciting. I have to pinch myself every day. It's a lot of hard work every single day, but I love, love, love it and couldn't do it without the help of my family. We work six days a week. I'm in a really intensely creative place right right now. I would love to open up a curated boutique that will be the epicenter of all things Asa Kaftans Beach Glam. There are a number of new collections coming -- One GOLDEN collection of beaded tunics that are next level gorgeous, one NAKED collection of very delicate chiffon kaftans with delicate embroidery (super sensual). I'm also working on a gorgeous swim wear line to go with the kaftans and also an AMAZING mens kaftan line this year. So many fun things going on this summer. I better get back to work!
