Joey: Who Is 'Red Bikini' Sara?

Joey Lauren explains why she brought Sara to Erica's pool party.

By Joey Lauren

Wow! Now that was a premiere episode! KAMTASIC!

Are you hooked? I sure am!

Before we get into all of that, I first wanted to introduce myself. My name is Joey Lauren Brodish but everyone knows me simply by Joey (and recognizes me as @Joey_Lauren). I wanted to thank all of you for not only tuning into our new series #Princesses: Long Island, but for taking the time to check out my personal blog here on BravoTV.com! I plan to use this outlet to make you smile, certainly laugh, give my two cents, and answer any questions you may have.

Now back to the fun stuff -- Erica’s pool party. As always, it was a ton of fun and had its fair share of drama. As you can see, not too much has changed since our high school days. Let me tell you about some of the guests I brought. Yes, some of my guy friends are all pretty fit but only two were trainersm, and who better to bring to a pool party? I like something nice to look at and I thought so would you -- the other two gentleman work for a technology company.

Now the moment you all have been waiting for: who is “Red Bikini” Sara and why did I bring her to the party?!

Oy vey! To  this day, I am still asking myself that question. Sara and I have several mutual friends, but we just officially met each other this year. She is outgoing, social, and typically kind. This was the first time I saw her out of sorts.

I think there a few lessons to be learned here. First: birds of a feather don’t always flock together. Second:  I am not anyone’s keeper, mother, teacher, or principal. I was truly embarrassed about all the wackiness going on and decided to not take part in the banter. Therefore, I removed myself from the situation. I’m a big believer that when you don’t know what to do, do nothing. I had just met Jeff (Amanda’s boyfriend), and Amanda and I were just starting to get close. I didn’t hear how the string of nasty remarks got started, but I also didn’t want to get involved in a Facebook fight. I am 30 years old — yes, I said it! I work too hard during the week to partake in these shenanigans. Can’t we go offline for the afternoon? This is a pool party, not a social media mudslinging tournament. I am definitely not a fan of this type of behavior. And of course, with alcohol involved, everything will escalate. So, I plan to address this poking issue later, when everyone is more even-tempered and sober. I do not condone the use of foul words or name-calling to hurt others. It’s just not my style, unless you’re being witty and sarcastic without intentions of hurting anyone -- then it’s a different story! Soon, you will get to know me better and understand what that means…!).

On another note, I think it’s important to address Ashlee’s reaction when driving through my town. It was heart- wrenching that she has never been exposed to any other lifestyle than the one her parents provided her. I consider myself quite lucky with my life thus far and what I have fortunate enough to experience -- I’ve been able to travel the world and see places like Israeli and Brazil -- on my own and without calling my parents. I would never want them to worry unnecessarily, and I certainly don’t need to search for attention. As you can see from the short clip, I try to always keep an open mind, and hopefully throughout the season Ashlee can expand her opinions past her zip code.

I’m looking forward to seeing how all of this plays out next week. Are you going to tune in? I can’t wait to update all of you here on BravoTV.com. In the meantime, tweet me your comments or questions, and I’ll do my best to reply to each and every one of you  @Joey_Lauren. And please don’t forget to follow me on instragram for pictures.

Kam Kam! –Joey Lauren
