Meghan Markle Is Pregnant! Here's Everything We Know
Royal Baby Watch 2019 starts ... now!
For once, Meghan Markle has some happy family news to report. On October 15, Kensington Palace made the official announcement: The duchess and Prince Harry are expecting their first baby! Or, in slightly more proper English language, here's the official tweet from the palace: "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019."
Later, the palace tweeted its version of a shout-out to the peeps: "Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."
Some people might have seen this coming. After all, back in June it was reported that Markle and Prince Harry wanted babies "right away." And, after the duchess wore a slightly roomy Givenchy coat to Princess Eugenie's wedding on October 12, many speculators thought they could spot a bump.
But now that we don't have to rely on rumors anymore, here's what we know: PEOPLE reports that the duchess is about 12 weeks along in her pregnancy, which is indeed around the time when many couples choose to announce the news. And a source close to the palace told the magazine that Markle has just had her 12-week checkup, and that all looks good with the royal bun in the oven.
Cheers to the happy couple!
