Decoding Maddox Jolie-Pitt’s Very Strange Comments about Brad Pitt
The father-son relationship between Brad Pitt and Maddox Jolie-Pitt may not be at its best right now.
If it seems like just yesterday that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were caught frolicking on a beach with baby Maddox Jolie-Pitt in tow, well, it wasn't! Jolie-Pitt is now an 18-year-old college student and "die-hard punk fan" who attends Yonsei University in Incheon, South Korea and may not be very close with his adoptive father at the moment.
In a video published by In Touch Weekly, a British paparazzo caught Jolie-Pitt walking on campus and asked him if his father would come visit at school.
“Um, I don’t know about that… what’s happening.”
The cameraman probed further, asking if his relationship with Pitt is over.
“Whatever happens, happens,” he answered.
These were Jolie-Pitt's first public comments since Pitt allegedly got into an altercation with his son on a private plane in 2016, an incident said to have precipitated Jolie filing for divorce.
“Maddox doesn’t really see himself as Brad’s son," an anonymous source told Us Weekly, adding that he declined to spend Christmas opening presents at Pitt's house.
Perhaps time can heal these wounds. In the meantime, Pitt put on big smiles for the public as he was photographed in a Tokyo airport after the video with Jolie-Pitt's comments broke.
