Here's What Erin Foster Really Thinks of Her Younger Stepmom Katharine McPhee Foster
"It takes a very strong, graceful person to come into a family as the fifth wife and have adult daughters who are older than her," David Foster's daughter said.
When Katharine McPhee Foster married David Foster, she became his fifth wife and a stepmother to his five daughters — two of whom, Erin and Sara Foster, are older than Katharine!
And now, 35-year-old Katharine wants a baby, which would totally change the overall family dynamic. She's definitely discussed the idea with her older stepdaughters (who jokingly call her Mommy), and they're surprisingly supportive of everything.
“The truth is we really genuinely love Katharine,” Erin asserted to Us Weekly. “It takes a very strong, graceful person to come into a family as the fifth wife and have adult daughters who are older than her and do it in a way that really creates inclusion with the family, and she just does it effortlessly. She just makes it really easy for all of us to get along. So we’re very grateful for her.”
As far as having a new baby, Erin is onboard: “Anything that makes them happy, I’m happy with.”
“When there is something happening that people have opinions on, everyone wants to create a narrative about how you hate that person,” Erin told the same publication recently. “Instead of letting anyone take liberties in creating that narrative for us, we are making it clear that we love Katharine.”
