Did Prince Andrew Shade Prince Harry and Meghan Markle With This One Sentence?
The royal uncle compared his daughter's nuptials to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's event.
Is there some shade flying around the Royal Family? Prince Andrew, who is Prince Harry's uncle, gave his daughter's (Princess Eugenie) hand in marriage away to her partner of eight years, Casamigos' U.K. Ambassador Jack Brooksbank, on October 12. They were married at a ceremony in St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, which is also where Harry married Meghan Markle back on May 19. Right before it took place, Prince Andrew made a quip that could have been made in jest or could be considered spilling some tea.
"There will be a few more guests here today than Harry and Meghan had, but that is the nature of Eugenie and Jack, they have so many friends," Prince Andrew said in a pre-wedding interview on British network ITV.
Princess Eugenie and Jack reportedly had 850 guests (compared to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 600). Those friends include lots of celebrities as well as three of Prince Harry's exes, who all showed up to the nuptials. But was that shade? Good thing they kept the tequila flowing the whole time.
"She's a chip off the old block, a little like her father," Prince Andrew insisted. "She is decisive with a huge heart. I'm sure sure she will be an absolutely outstanding bride."
