The Prettiest Watches Are More Affordable Than You Think
Everyone's obsessed with MVMT watches — for good reason.
Let me start by saying this: I have never been a watch-wearer. I love jewelry and will happily pile on the bangles, but a watch always felt too clunky and out of place on my wrist. I’ve had a few over the years that I was gifted or maybe even bought myself on a whim. I’d wear it for a week, maybe two, and then it’d fall by the wayside as the reality would creep in that I was just not a watch-wearer. It was not in my DNA.
But here I am, completely changed. I have found the watches to convert even a non-watch-person. The brand is called MVMT (pronounced: movement), and they have figured out the perfect formula to make even me slide on a timepiece every day before I head out the door. Here’s what they do that’s different:
1. Simplicity. Every single piece in their collection is elegant, an instant classic. Nothing about the watches is trendy, they’re just beautiful. Clean lines, no frills, neutral colors. But they still have style. In fact, the simplicity is the style. And it means that each piece is one that you can have and wear literally forever. Dare I say, it’s timeless?
2. Price. I find that watches are generally pieces of junk, or super expensive. As newly-converted watch-wearer, I remember thinking at times that I might want to purchase a watch to test the waters, but could not bring myself to drop $350+ on a timepiece that I was unsure I’d even use. MVMT watches start at just $95, which is very reasonable if you’ve ever tried to buy a watch that’s even half as beautiful. The price also makes it really easy to gift — and not just to the single most important person in your life who you might drop a few hundred on. You can buy one for your mom, your sister, your husband, and, because you deserve it, yourself.
3. Wearability. Remember that simplicity thing? It’s not just aesthetic — it has a very practical purpose. I promise, any MVMT watch will go with literally anything in your closet. Dress it up, dress it down, it doesn’t matter. Whatever your personal fashion sense, a MVMT watch won’t overshadow it or detract from it. It’ll just fit right in.
4. And here’s my favorite part: signature style. The brand just launched a line of bracelets that are designed to complement your MVMT watch. Rocking a watch every day is one thing, but rocking a watch that pairs oh so perfectly with the bracelets you’re also rocking: other-worldly. Personally, I wear the Magnolia watch with the rose gold Minimal cuff and a gold Ellipse bangle. When you put it all together, it’s not a watch and some bangles — it’s a look. It’s my look.
I could go on about my newfound love for MVMT watches (and my new life goal to one day own them all), but I think it might be best to let the pieces themselves do all the talking. Ahead, my favorite styles and suggested bracelet pairings. (If you’re reading this, family and friends, it’s also my holiday wish list.)
Rodeo
Pair this beauty with two whisper-thin ellipse bangles ($55 each, above).
Orion
The perfect companion? An edgy yet sophisticated thin stud bangle ($60, above).
Crescent Marble
Slide a silver double-barbed cuff ($40, above) right next to her.
Santa Monica
I love this one sandwiched between two thin ellipse bangles ($55 each, above) in a matching shade of gold.
Magnolia
A ellipse bangle ($55, above) goes really nicely with this one. Try adding a minimal cuff ($45, not pictured), too.

Honestly, this one's such a stunner, I say let her fly solo.

For a fun duet, add the knot cuff ($45, not pictured) in a different metal.
Sunset
A doubled barbed cuff ($45, not pictured) is its perfect match.
