Are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Moving to Chicago?
According to the rapper, they are.
Are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West moving to Chicago? This week, the rapper declared that he's headed back to his hometown.
“I’ve got to let you all know that I’m moving back to Chicago . . . I’m never leaving again," he told a group of Chicago high school kids on Monday, according to Page Six.
Anonymous sources tell TMZ that the couple may have already purchased a home in the Windy City, but plan to keep all their houses in Los Angeles as well.
Another source told US Weekly, however, that the family is staying put in L.A., but plans to spend more time in the midwest. “The family will continue to be based in Calabasas, where the kids will go to school,” a source close to Kardashian told Us Weekly. “Yes, they have bought a house in Chicago, where they will spend a lot of time. It’s extremely important to Kim that the children know where their father came from and to spend as much time there as possible.”
The insider added: “Chicago is a place where the family can unwind a bit and not be hounded by photographers. Kanye has also been spending a lot more time with his dad, which also played a role in the decision to put down roots there.”
It's not always easy to keep up on what's going on in the world of KimYe real estate, but on the Southern California side of their portfolio, they unloaded their Bel Air home for $17.8 million last year and picked up an all-white pad in Hidden Hills for $20 million — a cute trade-up, so to speak. And considering how much more property can be purchased in Chicago for that price level, we can't wait to see the place they end up with in the Midwest.
