Julie: Marissa and Juliet's Issues Go Deeper Than Turkey
Get to know Lady Julie Monatgu as she gives her royal side of Thanksgiving-gate!
Bravotv.com: What have you been up to since last season of Ladies of London ended?
Julie Montagu: One word: WRITING! I have two more books coming out next year! First up is Eat Real Food: Simple Rules on Health, Happiness and Unstoppable Energy and I like to think of it as a healthy living Bible. How and why to eat better (recipes included), yoga, meditation, affirmation, happiness, and how to get that unstoppable energy all in one book! That book launches in the UK and America 8th March 2016. As soon as the book was finished, I started writing cookbook number two: Superfoods, Superfast: 100 Energising Recipes in 20 Minutes or Less - I'm still in the midst of writing that one as it hits book shelves July 2016. I’ve also been teaching A LOT of yoga (favourite thing in the world), making superfood JUB balls and really promoting my Online Nutrition Course: The Flexi Foodie Academy. Plus, you know - the usual: cycling around London, kids, kids, kids, kids (I had to type that four times to make sure it was fair to all four of them!) and then really learning more about running Mapperton and all the projects that Luke is working on down at the estate.
Bravotv.com: As an American, where do you stand on Thanksgiving-gate? Tell us about the trip to the grocery store and the argument in the aisles.
JM: Argh. That’s tough! I completely understand Juliet wanting to have it in someone’s house because that’s what you do on Thanksgiving. And I think, for Juliet, in particular, it was super important to have it feel like 'back home in America.’ On the other hand, Marissa has created her own tradition with her British friends by having it in Bumpkin restaurant the past several years so I can also see why she wasn’t going to change her plans - she’s created her own, new tradition. In the end, I think it works out the best for both of them…but you’ll have to wait for Episode 2 for that one!
Bravotv.com: What do you think of Marissa and Juliet’s argument at Caroline’s house? One word: Messy. But I think that argument goes much deeper than Thanksgiving…stay tuned.
