Marissa Hermer Helps You Eat and Drink Your Way Through London Fashion Week
The #LadiesofLondon restaurateur shares her top spots in the city to refuel and celebrate.
To kick off Fashion Week, I would start with breakfast at the Little House in Mayfair. The breakfast menu is one of my absolute favourites with the avocado on toast with poached egg being a regular hit. The breakfast menu is also complimented by the selection of yummy breakfast blends such as the peach and orange smoothie, which consists of peach, orange, carrot, and almond milk.
For lunch I would recommend The Wolseley, which not only has a great selection of lunch options but is also a hot bed for spotting models and designers, especially during Fashion Week. My personal choice would be the chicken soup with half a salt beef sandwich, which is the perfect option to warm you up during the autumn season.
Drinks at the Connaught Hotel bar is must. The stunning interior designed by David Collins combined with the iconic martini trolley gives you a real sense of glamour. There are an array of flavours available, such as lavender and grapefruit — which when mixed with the premium spirits, create the ideal martini.
If your feeling a bit tipsy after one too many martinis, for me there is no better place for a snack then Polpo, which is situated in Soho, the heart of foodie central and home to Fashion Week 2015. It’s a Venetian restaurant specialising in small dishes full of brilliant flavour such as the zucchini, parmesan, and basil or the octopus & fennel carpaccio.
When it comes to hangover cures I tend to revert to my American childhood favorites to nurture me back to health/recovery. The grilled cheese sandwich with dill pickle served at the Colony Grill is a definite go to when I’m in need of a bit of TLC.
Lastly, but of course not least is obviously Top Dog. Also located in Soho, it is perfect for a quick drive-by food fix and we even have a lettuce wrap for the health conscious fashionistas.
