Obsessed
Trace talks about his vision for Chaz Dean's salon and Jeff's obsession with "number two."
Jeff Lewis Design headed to New York to see the space Chaz Dean has leased to open a new salon. Immediately after seeing the space I was inspired with the design direction the salon and retail space would have and could take on. It is a different direction than the bungalows we’ve been working on in Los Angeles, but it would work very well with Chaz’s clean aesthetic and the raw loftiness of the NYC space. We are eager to work on the project but know that it all hinges on the completion of the salon in Los Angeles. That's really what will determine whether or not Chaz will hire us for the job (even if he gets the “huge Chaz Dean discount”). We would never want to disappoint a client, but having another job to continue working on with Chaz is a big incentive to make sure he is impressed and we meet the deadline.
At Cole we’re getting down to the wire. Cabinets are going in, tile is being installed, and we’re working on all of the last minute details -- but it’s those details that will really make the reveal for the opening party. We are all just hoping there aren’t any hang-ups or delays, and those odds have never been good.
As excited as I am about the Cole reveal, I might be even more excited about the reveal of Zoila’s birthday present. I know she’s been a bit nervous about the surgery, but at the same time she’s really excited. We just try not to bring it up around her and she seems more at ease that way. What I am not or will never be excited about is discussing going “number two” in the office; and for whatever reason, Jeff is completely obsessed with the topic. Speaking of obsessed, I hope you all are enjoying the season and hope you tune in next week to see what other kind of awkward situations I get thrown into at JLD!
