Sutton Stracke Reacts to Erika Jayne's Claim That She Doesn't "Reveal" Her Life on RHOBH
The RHOBH cast member said everything she does on the show is "real": "I can only be my authentic self."
Contrary to what Erika Jayne believes, Sutton Stracke insists she’s been quite open about her personal life.
Sutton addressed the topic during a December sitdown with Decider, just weeks after Erika suggested Sutton could be more transparent while filming The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Sutton immediately pushed back on the remarks, saying she’s been nothing but honest about her struggles, including the tragic death of her father.

“I think that I have given a lot of my life up,” Sutton said in response to her castmate’s comment. “I’ve talked about my dad’s suicide openly and, actually for the first time ever, I brought it up with Erika – for the first time with a friend, really. And then to bring it to the audience and to join NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) as an ambassador to help awareness of suicide survivors. So, that’s a big deal for me, to expose that part of my life.”
Sutton acknowledged there were certain aspects of her family life she couldn’t show on TV, but that was due to factors out of her control.
“I don’t know how much deeper I can go. I can’t film with my children or I couldn’t until they were 18, so I can’t do anything about that,” she said, adding that she wasn’t “bothered” by Erika’s claim. “You know, yes, my dating life has been repeatedly shown. The kitty cat sweater has been ridiculed. So, I don’t know… I know that what I do is real and I can only be my authentic self and I think it’s enough for the audience. I think this year, this season, we see a lot more of my private life that I give up.”
Erika Jayne says she wants Sutton to "lay it all out there"
During a November interview with Entertainment Tonight, Erika opened up about her Housewife journey and how the show has documented many low points of her life. Although she admitted the experience wasn’t easy, she said she would like to see some of her castmates — specifically Sutton and Garcelle Beauvais — be just as open and honest about their personal lives.
“I feel as if, if I was able to lay it all out there, then you should be able to, as well,” Erika said. “I’d like for Sutton and Garcelle to reveal their lives.”
So, does Erika know something about Sutton and Garcelle’s lives that the audience doesn’t know?
“Not necessarily. I just feel as if, you know, nothing is as it appears,” she explained.
Where do Sutton and Erika stand today?
Erika also confirmed that she and Sutton have made huge strides in repairing their relationship, which has been fairly contentious over the years.
“We’re actually decent. I mean, we text back and forth,” she said. “I’ve never had a better relationship with Sutton. And with Garcelle, as well. I’ve actually said I would love to work on my relationship with both of them.”
