Los Angeles-based chef Chris Oh had some strong opinions.

When it comes to food, Los Angeles and New York City have some pretty strong rivalries. New York has stellar pizza, bagels, and pastrami sandwiches. Los Angeles has superior Asian food—sushi, Thai, Korean, and Chinese.

And then of course, there are the tacos.

Angelenos who move to the Big Apple constantly lament the lack of great Mexican food. Sure, there are plenty of hole-in-the-wall and high-end NYC eateries serving up tacos, tamales, and mole, but apparently it just isn't the same. But New Yorkers disagree: Mexican spots have been popping up everywhere in the city over past few years, turning out some terrific food—some of them have to measure up to West Coast standards, right? Right???

We decided to put East Coast tacos to the test, serving up a selection to West Coast-based chef Chris Oh, chef/founder of Seoul Sausage Co in L.A. Chris tried to put his inherent bias aside and gamely tried seven New York tacos, giving his very honest (and hilarious) opinion of each. No spoilers—you'll have to watch the video to see how they fared.
