#TBT: Kyle Richards Looks Back on 'Halloween'
The 'RHOBH' star reflects on the movie with Jamie Lee Curtis.
Every Thursday, celebrate #TBT with us as we open the vault to share photos of Bravolebrities before they were famous—or revisit memorable moments from our shows. In honor of Halloween tomorrow, we’re reminiscing about Kyle’s experience starring in one of the most iconic horror films of all time.
Though she may find herself tiptoeing around her fellow Beverly Hills Housewives at times, they’re nothing compared to the knife wielding maniac that Kyle ran from as a child actor in John Carpenter’s original 1978 classic, Halloween. "Of all the movies and TV shows I’ve done, that’s probably the movie that people mention the most to me. It has such a following, it’s unbelievable," Kyle said in a recent interview.
In the film, Kyle plays a precocious young girl whose babysitter is being stalked by a masked killer named Michael Myers on Halloween night. Kyle’s babysitter in the film was played by Jamie Lee Curtis and the role subsequently catapulted Curtis to stardom. During RHOBH Season 4, the former co-stars united at a charity event and sure enough, Halloween came up.

Kyle has said she was too young when filming on set to really understand what was going on. So, like many moviegoers, seeing Halloween for the first time was an intense experience. "Seeing it for the first time all pieced together was a very, very different movie. It was just really scary. And I really did sleep with my mom until I was 15 years old after that. I was terrified," Kyle has said of the fright flick.
Even though Kyle starred in other scary movies prior to Halloween, none of them managed to conjure the same unnerving impact with her. "I think that’s what sealed the deal for me to get out of horror films. After seeing myself in that, I was always thinking there was someone hiding behind the drapes or outside my windows or under my bed."
Shot on an extremely low budget, Halloween went on to become a global hit and one the most successful independent films of all time. Even RHOBH Housewife Carlton Gebbia’s deep feud with Kyle last season didn’t stop Carlton from admitting that Halloween was one of her favorite movies.
