'RHONJ' Blog Recap: Melissa Wishes Teresa Defended Her
The 'Wives sound off on last night's episode.
Last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey was an intense one. What was supposed to be a celebratory launch party for Teresa Giudice’s new line of hair products turned into an awkward run-in between Melissa Gorga and her former friends Jan and Penny, when they accused her of cheating on her husband Joe. Plus, Jacqueline Laurita returned home from plastic surgery to a heartwarming welcome from her kids, while Kathy Wakile and her husband tried to work on their communication skills. And will Caroline Manzo soon be planning a wedding? Read on for a round-up from their blog posts.
Melissa Wishes Teresa Defended Her
After all they learned during the retreat about sticking up for family and having each other's backs, Melissa felt slighted that Teresa didn't stick up for her against Jan and Penny. "We need to do what Dr. V. suggested and be a united front and back each other up," Melissa wrote. In Melissa's eyes, Teresa's failure to do so was a "missed opportunity."
...But Teresa Didn't Want to Get Involved
Teresa writes that she didn't personally invite Jan or Penny to the event—the party was open to all local salon owners. But when she found out that Jan had RSVP'd, Teresa called Melissa to warn her. "I have no idea why Jan and Melissa would have a falling out," Teresa says. "But like I said in my interview on the show, I have Melissa's back." However, Teresa was careful to keep her distance. "I'm there for Melissa, but I wasn't going to get involved because it didn't have anything to do with me. And Melissa's a big girl. I know she can handle herself."
Kathy Wakile Explains Her Frustrations with Her Husband Rich
Kathy may have missed out on the action at Teresa's party, but that doesn't mean she didn't have a little drama of her own. Now that she has launched her own business, she and Rich have to learn how to communicate. "Change is always hard for anyone to accept," she writes, "especially for two people who have been married for 22 years. Rich believes he is helping me, but I need to remember to really try to communicate what I want and need from him and not assume that he knows."
Jacqueline Laurita Had an Emotional Return Home After Her Surgery
"I was thrilled to see how excited Nicholas was to see me when I came home," Jacqueline writes. "I can't put into words how great that felt to see that emotion in him. I missed my boys so much, and it made me feel good to know that they missed me too." Jacqueline's teary reunion came after her return from her trip to California for a plastic surgery procedure. Although only a week has passed since her surgery, Jacqueline and her husband plan to join Melissa for her birthday trip to Arizona.
Caroline Manzo May Soon Be a Mother-in-Law
"Lauren and Vito are a great couple," Caroline writes. "They're still going strong after four years of dating. I have a suspicion that an engagement ring may be in her very near future." So how does Caroline feel about her daughter's potentially pending nuptials? "Vito is a wonderful guy," she says, "and Al and I are very happy to have him as part of our family. As a parent you wish for your children to find someone that loves them completely and unconditionally, and I think that Lauren has found that with Vito."
