NeNe Leakes: How I'm Coping With Blood Clots

NeNe Leakes had a very scary November last year when she landed in the hospital for blood clots in her lungs. Since then, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star has been on daily medication and embracing a new healthy lifestyle (without slowing down).

"My health is very good, as far as I know," NeNe tells Windy City Times. "I take regular medication every day. I am in New York so the climate change from Atlanta to here has made us all try to stay healthy." NeNe is currently in rehearsal for her Broadway debut as the Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella.

The Atlanta peach also recently finished her run as the star of Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity; launched a successful, sold out clothing line on HSN; and was a main speaker at a women expo in Chicago. "I was so overwhelmed," she says of the latter experience. "When I finished speaking, women were chanting, 'Take over Oprah's studio—it's right up the road!' I had the best time…So many women came up and wanted help on launching their careers. I just loved it."

NeNe also gave some teasers as to what's to come in the brand new season of RHOA. "People will see me and Cynthia's relationship dissolve for good," she says. "The cast is very divided. While I am over here doing my thing, they are over there doing their thing. We are not friends. It is a real negative place to me."

But one former castmate that she surprisingly has kind words for? Kim Zolciak Biermann. NeNe confirms that the two have patched up their fraught friendship after Kim attended NeNe's wedding last year. "Kim and I are in a very good place," she says. "We talk and text all of the time."

NeNe's run on Cinderella begins on November 25th.
