Masterpieces! LuAnn Shares New Artwork by Her Kids
The proud mom also reveals where they got their chops—and it's not from her.
The Real Housewives of New York City's star LuAnn de Lesseps has not one, but two burgeoning art talents on her hands. Since her daughter Victoria made her debut on the New York art scene, her son Noel has also recently found inspiration in the visual medium. And LuAnn couldn't be more excited to show off their work to the world (check out the gallery below).
"Victoria and Noel have been drawing since I can remember, probably earliest at the age of 5. Victoria was always sketching dresses, women and shoes. Noel was into animals and animated creatures,” she tells the Dish about her talented twosome.
"They mainly create their work in their rooms on the floor and outside in our garage where I've had art shows for them in the recent past. Now Victoria is in college and art school and continues to work on her passion which is drawing and painting," she adds.
Her son hopes to soon follow in his sister‘s footsteps when it comes to his academic and artistic pursuits. "Noel draws and spends time creating graphics and mixed media work,” she said. “He also manages a skateboard brand he started in 2009, ‘Fancy Fool,’ and put together his website where many of his projects are displayed. Presently he is working on building his portfolio for his career and colleges."
As it turns out, an eye for art is in their DNA. “Noel and Victoria are connected to nature and draw their inspiration from their surroundings," LuAnn explains. "Their great-grandfather on the de Lesseps side was a wonderful watercolor painter and their father Count Alexandre painted and did photography in the art department at Northwestern College. My brother Michael is a genius builder contractor/architect and my niece Nicole was on the Bravo show Work of Art! So I guess in runs in their genes to be artists."
But don’t expect to see any original pieces from LuAnn anytime soon. "As for myself, I can't even draw a rabbit!"
Despite not having the same artistic talents as her two kids, LuAnn wants to help cultivate their love for art.
"I encourage my children to do what they love and that is being creative. I hope they both find their calling in the art world. Which I'm sure will come naturally, as they are both very talented artists who are great human beings and in touch with their inner selves which is where great art thrives,“ she said. “They literally work on their passion every day which is inspirational to me.”
