Lydia Reflects on Ryan's Couch Explosion
The RHOC star says she was expecting an apology--but never got one.
It was tough for Lydia McLaughlin to cope with the explosive fight that erupted between her mother and Ryan Culberson—he flipped out when she put her feet on his mom Vicki Gunvalson's couch in last season's Real Housewives of Orange County Season Finale—and it's still difficult to revisit the altercation now.
In a recent interview with TooFab, Lydia reflected on the fight, and she reveals that she never got an apology from Briana Culberson, Vicki's daughter, or Ryan. (In his defense, Ryan has been stationed in Afghanistan in recent months for a tour of duty.)
"Watching it back I was able to understand more of where she [Briana] was coming from and why she took her husband's side, because she really didn't know what happened," Lydia says. "I was really expecting her to come on the reunion and say 'I'm sorry' or give some sort of an apology. It's not even that she had to apologize, but at least take responsibility for her husband's actions.”
Despite her unfortunate dust-up with Ryan, Judy Stirling has been pulling in accolades elsewhere. Last week, she recently won OC Weekly’s Best of OC Award for Best Character on The Real Housewives of Orange County, in part for the cool head she kept during the incident with Ryan.
Do you think Lydia and her mother are owed an apology? Or should they just move on? Let us know in the comments.
