Jeff Lewis: I'm 'Ashamed of My Behavior' in New 'Flipping Out'
The fiesty design guru says things got so bad, he and his crew went to therapy.
The temper of Jeff Lewis has become all too synonymous with the man himself. When people watch Flipping Out, they expect him to, well, flip out. And yes, often he does, though during the upcoming sixth season (which premieres September 4 at 9p EST) Jeff says he's not all that proud of his freakouts.
"I'm a little ashamed of my behavior the last six to eight months [during filming], but I've since taken control of my life and gotten back on track," Jeff admitted in a conference call on Thursday afternoon. "I took on a lot this past six to eight months and it really affected me. There's a lot of flip-outs, I felt very out of control and it has to do with whenever I take on too much risk. I have trouble dealing with too much stress and I think I regressed this season."
The design and renovation whiz says that going back-to-back from Interior Therapy to Flipping Out, plus some financial and personal business concerns sent his stress levels skyward.
And while his wrath is often directed at Jenni Pulos and the fabulous Zoila Chavez, Jenni thinks that over-the-top moments in the upcoming season were at least healthier than those of the past.
"What I really appreciate bout Jeff this year is he confronted them in a healthier way. You'll see that on the show," Jenni said during the call.
Get ready for Jeff in all of his temper-tantrum glory when Flipping Out returns on September 4!
