Golden Globes Fashion: the Best and Worst Dressed

Our style experts—Stassi Schroeder, Bevy Smith, Lawrence Washington, Derek J, Geneva Thomas and Daisy Lewellyn—weigh in with their picks.

Awards season kicked off last night in Los Angeles with the 71st annual Golden Globes and Hollywood's biggest celebs were decked out in some stylish--and not so stylish--looks. Whose were the best? And whose were the worst? Bravo's resident style experts—Stassi Schroeder, Bevy Smith, Lawrence Washington, Derek J, Geneva Thomas, and Daisy Lewellyn—sound off on their favorite celeb fashions—and their most hated.

Bevy Smith's Five Best and Worst Looks

Olivia Wilde
She was resplendent in emerald green sequins by Gucci! She looked so fab that even non-pregnant women want to get her look.

Cate Blanchett
She looked divine in the MASTER of red carpet dressing, Giorgio Armani! A vision in black lace gossamer made even more chic by significant "backvage," a.k.a back cleavage!

Amy Adams
I think she's taken over from Julianne Moore as THE fashionista "ginger" and I loved the dress especially with the cape!

Naomi Watts
Dressed in Tom Ford, she was a chic column of liquid silver.

Lupita Nyong'o
The red carpet newbie who was BORN to this! Unlike most red carpet freshman she hasn't made one fashion faux pas, she looked fresh and edgy, I predict her Ralph Lauren dress with attached cape will start a trend.

Hayden Panettiere
Hayden's slick back "fresh out of the shower" coif was a dismal fail and even wearing a Tom Ford dress couldn't make her look interesting.

Emma Thompson
She must have been expecting a flood, her dress is an odd and unattractive length.

Jennifer Lawrence
I absolutely LOVE her work, she takes lots of chances with the roles she takes, which is why this plain dress is such a shock! She could have "hustled" up a look with more pizzazz!

Zooey Deschanel
She is known for her fun and whimsical personality so I'm throughly confused as to why she wore a gown better suited for an old girl vs. a "new girl."

Emma Watson
She was wearing a backless dress with pants underneath, I know people have a hard time picking out red carpet looks but you have to CHOOSE ONE LOOK not combine two.

Lawrence Washington's Five Best and Worst Looks

Lupita Nyong'o
Extreme regal in red! Love an off the shoulder gown and then to add a cape was epic!

Margot Robbie
Snatched for the gawds in that gorgeous white gown with the right amount of slit and glitz!

Kerry Washington
Very clean glowing in light gray gown showing off her baby bumb! "Look who's talking now!"

Olivia Wilde
Absolutely stunning in a green sequin gown! She and Kerry were giving BATTLE OF THE MOTHAS!

Usher Raymond
Froze the carpet as pumped in a rich looking Bordeaux tux!

Aubrey Plaza
She looks like that candy from back in the day called Laffy Taffy.

Julia Roberts
Glammed up maid realness.

Paula Patton
The big one side ruffle was way too overpowering.

Drew Barrymore
I'm not a fan of stick-on flowers.

Melissa McCarthy
I don't think choir robes should be allowed on red carpets.

Stassi Schroeder's Five Best and Worst Looks

Olivia Wilde
I just can’t get enough of this Gucci emerald green, long sleeved gown. Send to: Stassi Schroeder, 555 Princess Lane, Tiara City, USA.

Margot Robbie
What can I not obsess over in this look? The ivory gown, the emerald embellishments, the high slit, the green Louboutins. This has to be my favorite pick for the night. Margot is an absolute goddess in this Gucci dress.

Lupita Nyong’o
This Ralph Lauren gown with cape detail manages to encompass a look that is so incredibly modern yet reminiscent of the glamorous 1940s. This streamlined look has stunning architectural lines with a show-stopping classic red.

Maria Menounos
Maria reminds me of a modern day "Sleeping Beauty." This Max Azria Atelier gown (with the gorgeous princess pink) compliments her coloring and body in every way. I’d like to call this look "avant-garde fairytale."

Zoe Saldana
This Prabal Gurung gown is like nothing I’ve ever seen. The sexy silhouette combined with the different fabrics, textures and prints, makes this one of the most beautiful and unique dresses I’ve ever seen on a red carpet. It’s like a Marilyn Monroe and Madonna Frappuccino… in the best way possible.

Zooey Deschanel
First word that comes to mind, BLAH. Second words? Senorita BLAH. It’s not dowdy, it’s not frumpy, it’s just BLAH. But honestly, maybe this is all me and I just can't get past her role in Elf.

Drew Barrymore
Drew, I love Disney’s Fantasia too. But seriously, dead butterflies aren’t the best.

Paula Patton
This is seriously like Paula just selflessly nominated herself for the worst dressed list. I can picture her saying, “Someone’s gotta do it! I’ll take one for the team! That dress will do!” Or maybe she just borrowed it from her father-in-law, Alan Thicke’s ex-wife. We may never know.

Berenice Bejo
Well this Giambattista Valli gown certainly isn’t a hip-minimizer! Did Dynasty move to the hips?

Aubrey Plaza
Homegirl obviously has a thing for “My Little Pony” and purple. Thistle, mauve, orchid, heliotrope, purple pizzazz, lavender… and a fuschia clutch. Okay seriously, I can’t.

Derek J's Five Best and Worst Looks

Tina Fey
Her dress for the opening of the show was fabulous I'm not a big fan of red but this is red done right.

Elizabeth Moss
Her black and merlot sequin dress was a great look for her.

Usher Raymond
He strayed away from the mundane norm of the black tux and did color with a plum tuxedo.

Cate Blanchett
Words can't even describe how gorgeous she looked in this dress.

Kate Beckinsale
Even with a broken zipper she was able to wow the red carpet in her silver sequin dress.

Jennifer Lawrence
I absolutely hate this dress. It looks like toilet paper wrapped with black ribbon.

Paula Patton
Her dress was a wreck from the side. I thought I liked it until she turned and she had a different dress on her shoulder.

Lena Dunham
She just hasn't found what works with her or maybe she just doesn't care.

Kaley Cuoco
I'm not sure why I didn't like this dress it just was blah to me.

Melissa McCarthy
Her dress was horrific I think it would have been good just being black but those chains wrapped around the the neck and down the front of the dress was a disastrous afterthought.

Daisy Lewellyn's Five Best and Worst Looks

Lupita Nyong'o
I have an Orange Crush on this red carpet stunner! Head to toe, she's flawless. Love love love when young raw talent embraces true fashion.

Diddy
He just screams Gentleman Goes Globes. And the pinky ring gives him the street swag that he deserves. All hail Daddy Combs.

Sofia Vergara
LBD meets va va voom!! This Turquoise Statement Necklace really shows how color can bring love & life to classic black number.

Cate Blanchett
Blue Jasmine goes black lace darling. So elegant with the perfect amount of peek a boo skin. The diamond exposed back was just enough sexy to make her feel like a woman.

Paula Patton
Now this is how you give drama. She's a Creme dream head turning goddess. Makeup and hair clean, without competing Accessories. Magnefique!

Lena Dunham
I love the color and shape of the dress but think with her body type is probably not the best pairing. Mermaid style dresses in bold hues can be hard to pull off.

Jacqueline Bissett
A bit frumpy and not very fun. Her hair wasn't youthful and she really didn't maximize the opportunity to feel fabulous.

Zooey Deschanel
As much a I love Oscar de la Renta, it's not the most slimming or current frock. It reads wedding cake topper and not red carpet stunner.

Emma Watson
I'm never been a huge fan of pants with dresses, its so 90's. She's such a young starlet. I would have loved her in a more textured exciting fabrication and something a little trend-driven. Zac Posen or Marchesa would be awesome on her.

Gabourey Sidibe
She's so talented, so funny, and seems like a really bright girl, but this dress choice just doesn't give smart shopper. Curvy is the new black, and it's key to dress to flatter them with smart fabrication and draping. A darker shade with a less shiny material would have been a safer option.

Geneva Thomas' Five Best and Worst Looks

Lupita N'yongo
12 Years A Slave Best Supporting Actress nominee became one with the red carpet in a crimson Ralph Lauren masterpiece. Although it's a mimic of Gwyneth Paltrow's Tom Ford from the 2012 Oscars, she gives it a chic all of her own.

Lena Dunham
She represented for curvy girls everywhere in a punk-inspired canary Zac Posen. Her tattoos juxtaposed against Posen's signature corseted gowns says: "I care, but I really don't."

Reese Witherspoon
She is giving "I banged the entire football team" cheerleader chic, per usual. She looks irritatingly stunning in this super sexy Calvin Klein aqua gown.

Cate Blanchett
Everyone, you can leave now! Cate Blanchett has arrived! The undisputed queen of risk-taking red carpet looks arrived in an intricately-laced black Armani. Her 60s-inspired bob and Chopard diamond earrings take her high-neck transparent gown to the neck level.

Sandra Bullock
Her color block Prabal Gurung gown gives the red carpet the pop it desperately needed. The veteran star upstaged nearly every Hollywood young buck who dragged down the carpet before her.

Jennifer Lawrence
Not sure what's more disappointing, when the batteries run out in my vibrator or Jennifer Lawrence's dress.

Amy Adams
She is far too minimalist in this cranberry Valentino. Seems the "American Hustle" actress could have hustled up stronger accessories for what could have been a 'wow' moment.

Margot Robbie
I wanted more from the Wolf of Wall Street actress. Her underwhelming white gown looks like prom dress from the clearance rack.

Caitlin Fitzgerald
The 30 year-old Masters of Sex actress is tragically aged in this baby blue Emeli Wickstead gown. The gown riffing on De la Renta's spring 2012 collection could have been hot had she not opted for what looks to be the fabric of a wash rag.

Kerry Washington
She let us all down and needs to be reminded that just because you're knocked up doesn't mean you don't get to say eff it at the freaking Golden Globes! This Balenciaga is a greyish miss!
