Bethenny Frankel Reveals Details of Her First Kids' Book
How her daughter Bryn is inspiring her foray into fiction.
She's an inventive entrepreneur, the head of a growing drink empire, and has checked Talk Show Host off of her career to-do list, and now Bethenny Frankel is adding author to her collection of awesome job titles.
Recently, Bethenny opened up about the cancellation of her talk show, which she admitted turned out to be more of a blessing than a sad departure. Lately, she's been spending her days hanging with daughter Bryn, Skinnygirl and all the cocktails it creates, and working on a children's book her daughter inspired called Cookie and Peanut.
"I'm taking a really long break right now—I want to focus on my Skinnygirl brand and my daughter," Bethenny tells People. "I've been working so hard for so long, and I just really want to rest and enjoy and just kind of be."
The book is directly inspired by Bryn and her beloved pup, Cookie, and Bryn's love for reading has been a crucial part in making the book a reality. "She's the Peanut and my dog's the Cookie," Bethenny says. "I'm reading her the book, and she's kind of helping me with the story. She likes it—it's really cute and she loves a good children's book."
Despite the fact that Bethenny's had her life documented on TV—either through her talk show, The Real Housewives of New York City or her subsequent spin-offs—don't expect to see the process behind Cookie and Peanut coaxing her back underneath the reality TV spotlight.
"It's definitely a personal sacrifice, sharing your personal life, and I think that's what people like to see the most," she says. "It's not something I'm interested [in] right now."
