Andy Gives the Scoop on Porsha's New RHOA Role
Why isn't she holding a peach this season?
When Bravo announced the return of The Real Housewives of Atlanta last month, fans were surprised to learn that Porsha would not be a full-time Housewife. Instead, she will be appearing as a Friend of the Housewives this season.
So what was the reason behind giving her a new role? In the latest episode of Ask Andy, the executive producer opens up about what really went down. (Watch below.)
"It had nothing to do with anything that happened at the reunion last season," Andy tells his assistant Daryn, referring to the fight she had with Kenya Moore. "Really, it was about the amount of story we got from Porsha this season. We went into it assuming she would be a full Housewife, holding a peach. We just haven't gotten enough to merit that. She's going to be in it a lot. We love her. I hope she'll be on Bravo endlessly."
The Housewives had made plenty of other headlines this month, particularly the devastating news that Teresa and Joe Giudice will be serving time in prison for fraud. Andy sat down with the couple to discuss the case, the sentencing, and their future. (Part two airs tonight at 9p ET.) Now, he's revealing what he was most surprised to learn during the sit-down.
"I was most surprised that Teresa didn't understand the terms of her plea deal. And I was most surprised that they had gone back into court with all of these materials omitted. I don't understand how their entire team let them go into the court with these omissions. It seems that from what the judge said, were specifically impactful to Teresa getting this time she's going to be serving. That just blew me away. And that they also didn't seem to understand it."
Andy also reveals the one time he nearly missed hosting his own talk show Watch What Happens Live. Watch below and check out more episode of Ask Andy.
