Prince George's Gourmet School Lunches Are Fit for a King-to-Be
These dishes put peanut butter and jelly to shame.
Prince George is currently in his second week of school ever, attending the private Thomas's Battersea School in London, and you can rest assured that the four-year-old possible future king of England is not eating Lunchables in the middle of the day.
Tasting Table wondered what the little royal is actually being served, and discovered that Thomas's kids are very well fed indeed. The school shares sample menus that are frankly pretty mouthwatering.
A typical day might start with a midmorning snack of fruit or a fresh baked pain aux raisin, followed by a lunch of salmon filet with a salsa verde or smoked BBQ chicken fajitas and a Portuguese egg tart with fresh strawberries or a fresh baked oatmeal raisin cookie with a banana milkshake for dessert. The menus are seasonal and run on a three-week cycle, with several dietary options, enough variety for adventurous eaters and repetition for picky ones.
Princess Kate reportedly revealed last year that her son loves pizza and pasta, so he may gravitate towards the school's mozzarella, tomato and basil panini.
Given that a slice of his parents' wedding cake can fetch five figures at auction, it wouldn't be shocking to see, say, a pop-up restaurant serving Prince George's new lunch staples.
