Culinary Goddess Ina Garten Plans to "Shake It Up" With Celeb Guests on Her New Cooking Show
The Food Network queen shared juicy details about Cook Like a Pro.
We've grown to love culinary guru and domestic goddess Ina Garten through her hit Food Network show,Barefoot Contessa. It's been airing for an amazing 24 seasons (!), but now, the queen of the Hamptons is ready to branch out with something new.
Barefoot Contessa: Cook Like a Pro debuts May 28 on the Food Network, and she recently offered up a sneak preview in an interview with PEOPLE. Here are three things you need to know about Garten's latest venture:
1. It Will Emphasize Cooking Techniques
“People email me the craziest questions all the time,” she told PEOPLE. “So I thought, ‘Why don’t I answer these on the show?'” Though the show will still be based on recipes, it will sprinkle her expert tips throughout each episode—for example, how she cuts cauliflower without making a mess in the kitchen.
2. It Will Feature Celebrity Guests
“My shows have always been about entertaining and friends coming over and toodling around East Hampton, and I really wanted to shake it up a little bit,” Garten explained. Instead of dinners with hubby Jeffrey or casual parties with local friends, guests like Mario Batali, José Andrés, April Bloomfield, and Yotam Ottolenghi will stop by, offering their own expert tips on each dish.
3. It Might Get Turned Into a Cookbook…Maybe?
Her latest title, Cooking With Jeffrey, was an instant best seller. So is this show destined to become a cookbook? “It could be, we’ll see…would people like it?” Garten responded to PEOPLE.
Hmmm. Intriguing!
