Below Deck Mediterranean third stew Anastasia Surmava stepped into the galley given Chef Mila Kolomeitseva's troubles — and eventual demotion, then firing, by Captain Sandy Yawn.

And Anastasia is qualified: The Sirocco crew member, who is Georgian, was raised by a pastry chef and patterned her own culinary journey in her powerhouse, 4-foot-11 mom's footsteps.

But you don't rise the ranks without picking up detractors. And Anastasia has something to say to them.

She took to Instagram to share a photo of herself suited up in black uniform in the galley, surrounded by an array of dishes in progress, and plates ready to be topped. "You can say I’m not a chef," she captioned the snap. "But you can’t say I don’t look good in black."
