Peggy Sulahian Can Thank Her Mother-in-Law for Her Marriage
An arranged meet-cute was responsible for bringing Diko and Peggy together.
Although most people despise when their family members set them up with potential suitors, sometimes the family meddling actually works out. This was the case for The Real Housewives of Orange County’s newest 'Wife Peggy Sulahian. In an interview with The Daily Dish podcast, she revealed she and her husband, Diko Sulahian were set up by family members who thought that they would be perfect for each other. “We were introduced through my mom and her cousin's wife,” Diko shared. “They kind of thought, 'OK, these guys would be perfect for each other,'” he continued.
Diko said that his parents were eager to see him tie the knot at that point, so concocting a meet-cute for their son was a no-brainer. “Obviously, my parents were like, 'OK, you're 27, 28, you've got to get married. Stop messing around,'” he said. “They had seen Peggy several years back and her spunk and her little feistiness. She has had [her spunky attitude] since she was a kid. So my mom saw that, OK, this girl has that spunk,” he continued.
He explained his mom was instrumental in their introduction. “My mom actually asked me to give her a ride to some fashion show which was an hour away and my mom drives her own car. And I'm like, why is she asking me to take her?” he said. Peggy added that she knew Diko was the one from the moment they met. “I felt it that day. [. . .] I knew it,” she recalled.
“It was probably a year and a half to two years later we got married,” Diko said. The couple has been happily married ever since.
