Brandi Redmond Shares How Her Daughters Reacted to Their New Baby Brother
The Real Housewives of Dallas mom gets "emotional just thinking about it."
Brandi Redmond's fun foursome of a family is now a quintet. The Real Housewives of Dallas mom and her husband, Bryan Redmond, adopted infant son Bruin Charles this past winter (you can see some adorable photos of him here), giving daughters Brooklyn, 9, and Brinkley, 6, a new baby brother.
Of course, Brandi and Bryan wanted to make sure their little girls were just as excited about welcoming a baby brother to the family as they were. So the RHOD couple talked "through the good, the bad, and the ugly about having a baby sibling and about what that meant" with their daughters before they went through with the adoption, Brandi shared during a recent interview with PEOPLE.
Everyone in the family then wrote down whether they wanted to go through with the adoption and any hesitations they may have had, Brandi explained. But she said “there were no hesitations from anyone." “They were just like, ‘Yay, we’re going to have another boy in the family!' Everything was positive. And after my husband read them all, I just started bawling," Brandi told PEOPLE. "I’m getting emotional just thinking about it and talking about it. But yeah, it was beautiful.”
Brandi said that Brooklyn and Brinkley were "so excited" to meet Bruin, she FaceTimed with them from the hospital so they could see their brother since he was put in the neonatal intensive care unit after being born prematurely on December 31, 2017. “We were planning on bringing them to meet him after that and they were like, ‘Just bring him home, Mommy!’” Brandi gushed.
The RHOD mom also recently shared a photo of Brooklyn and Brinkley eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby brother with a giant teddy bear and blankets.
Brandi previously shared with PEOPLE that she now feels like her family is "one hundred and ten percent complete" with the arrival of Bruin. “His biological parents, I just think they were so brave to make the best decision for him. I’m very honored and excited that he’s a part of our family now,” she said. “He’s our miracle baby. Things happen for a reason and God gives you exactly what you can handle. This was just meant to be.”
