Mischa Barton Has Joined The Hills Reboot and OK, Sure, Why Not
The former The O.C. actress confirmed the news with a cheeky message: "Welcome to The Hills, bitch."
Were you feeling bummed by the fact that neither Lauren Conrad nor former arch nemesis Kristin Cavallari would be back in the saddle for the upcoming The Hills reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings? Well, Mischa Barton must have heard your cries because she's decided to step in and join the series. MTV confirmed the news, as did the former The O.C. actress via a sassy and throwbacky Instagram video in which she looked at camera and told her fans: "Welcome to The Hills, bitch." (If you don't get the reference, we clearly can't be friends.)
She also elaborated a bit more about her decision to join the series. "The secret’s out... I’m joining the cast of The Hills. When MTV approached me with the chance to be a part of the reality show that was inspired by The O.C., it felt like the perfect opportunity for an irresistibly inviting new chapter," she shared. She is, of course, referring to the show that launched The Hills, Laguna Beach, which was inspired by Mischa's fictional series The O.C., which debuted on Fox in 2003.
Now, if you're trying to figure out what her connection is to any of the returning The Hills pals like Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Jason Wahler, Frankie Delgado, Justin Bobby Brescia, Stephanie Pratt, Brody Jenner, or Whitney Port, yeah, it's also lost on us. Mischa, it should be noted, never made any appearances during The Hills' original run, so we're not gonna even pretend we get it. But, we're aways down to see more of Marissa Cooper on the small screen.
