Melissa Gorga Explains Her Comments About Teresa Giudice's Parenting
The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom clarifies her "sisterly advice."
Just when you thought Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga had moved on from their past drama, a tad bit of tension arose between The Real Housewives of New Jersey sisters-in-law this season. And it had to do with their kids.
Melissa said earlier this season that she thought Teresa was perhaps too lenient when it came to disciplining her four daughters, Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana. When Teresa heard that, she felt like she was being judged by her sister-in-law, especially since parenting has been challenging enough on her own, as her husband Joe Giudice continues to serve his prison sentence.
But Melissa explained on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Wednesday that she wasn't trying to criticize Teresa. "I think Teresa even says throughout the episode that I was right about it. And it's not a negative thing at all. She gives them so much love; it's really not a negative thing," Melissa explained. "It's kind of like sisterly advice. She doesn't have a sister, and so from an outside looking in, sometimes she can be a little too lenient."
Teresa addressed what seemed like mounting tension between her and Melissa this season, especially when it came to the family restaurant they opened with Joe Gorga, in her blog. "This episode saw me and Melissa going at it a little bit, the truth is I didn’t like the way she was treating my brother," Teresa wrote. "Sorry to disappoint, but I will NEVER go back to the way it once was with Melissa and me and all of that fighting. We are family, and family needs to stick together."
