Fredrik Eklund Celebrates SCOTUS Ruling in Paradise

Not only does the #MDLNY star vaction better than you do, he celebrates in style, too.

Gay marriage was legalized in all 50 states on Friday, and Million Dollar Listing New York star Fredrik Eklund and his husband, Derek, received the news just in time to celebrate while vacationing in Turks and Caicos. “We just landed in this paradise and ran straight into the water, now screaming and celebrating. Because yes, TODAY is that big, big day! The Supreme Court of the United States did listen to the people,” he writes on Instagram. "I am so proud to be living in this country at this time and I am thankful for all the people who have come before me that have made all of it today possible. Love is love, and today love won! Yes, thank you again, Universe!”

Derek and I were up in the air when the news broke. We had been waiting, actually I have been waiting for this very day for what seems forever. We just landed in this paradise and ran straight into the water, now screaming and celebrating. Because yes, TODAY is that big, big day! The Supreme Court of the United States did listen to the people. People like myself, who desire to marry the one that that I love. People like myself, who desire to raise a family in a society that accepts all people for who they are. People like the ones who fought so long for this basic civil right that they died fighting for it. People who love and want the right for their love to be recognized legally for all the protections that come along with that. People who contribute to a society, who simply want to feel accepted. This to me is no different than when women and blacks got the right to vote. I am so proud to be living in this country at this time and I am thankful for all the people who have come before me that have made all of it today possible. Love is love, and today love won! Yes, thank you again, Universe! â¤ï¸

Right outside our villa we've made new friends with all the crabs and blue tropical fish. You know, I'm like a little kid whenever I see animals. I've never seen water so clear, well perhaps in the Maldives. ð

In addition to his thoughtful commentary, Fredrik posted an adorable video of himself celebrating the decision by dancing and whipping a towel around to Beyonce’s “Halo.”
