Zoe Kravitz Just Blew Up Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy's Spot By Confirming Their Feud
All was not fun and games on the Mad Max: Fury Road set.
This is one case where you can believe the hype. Zoe Kravitz confirmed that Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy definitely didn't get along while filming Mad Max: Fury Road. Like, at all.
“Yeah…They didn’t get along,” Zoe revealed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday. “We were also in the desert for so long. I think everyone was tired and confused and homesick and we saw nothing but sand for six months. It’s just, you go crazy, you do.”
Charlize spoke a bit about their beef in an interview with WSJ Magazine (via Entertainment Weekly) in 2016, sharing, “From what I hear, he’s not like that on every movie — I hear he’s had good experiences. Maybe the movie is what it is because we struggled so much with each other, and those characters had to struggle so much with each other. If we were chum-chum, maybe the movie would have been 10 times worse.”
She later told Esquire their issues had been resolved by the end of the shoot, but still, Tom seemed bummed by the whole ordeal when he spoke to Esquire U.K.: “That’s disappointing. I think she is f***ing awesome. I think she’s incredible. I think she’s one of the most talented actresses of our generation.”
As for why Zoe felt the two stars had feuded, well, she had this to say on WWHL: “I actually don’t know if it was one issue. I just think they weren’t vibing. At some point, everyone has, like, some kind of issue with somebody ’cause it’s just the way people are.”
