Susan Sarandon Keeps Her Feud with Debra Messing Alive: "She's Not Very Well Informed"
The actress shared where she stands with her Twitter opponent on #WWHL.
Even though Debra Messing and Susan Sarandon are Hollywood celebrities, they still get into fights about politics on Twitter, much like the rest of the nation. Susan was a Bernie Sanders fan during the primaries and when he lost she moved her support over to Jill Stein. Debra supported Hillary Clinton, and has previously accused Susan of being one of many people who aided Donald Trump in his campaign against her. This has led to lots of back and forth on Twitter, which Susan was asked about on Monday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
“We all are so obsessed with your Twitter feud with Debra Messing,” said Andy. “Have you run into each other [in person]?”
After a moment’s hesitation, Susan confirmed that she had, indeed, run into Debra, but added that the two have not actually spoken. “Because I’m a huge Rangers fan and I’ve been to a couple of games where she’s been there, and she never says anything to me in person,” Susan said.
Andy seemed surprised that Debra is only willing to be antagonistic with Susan online rather than to her face, but we all know that’s how it is with our crazy uncles at Thanksgiving dinner too. Susan went on to explain that Debra sometimes sub-tweets her, but she always finds out.
“Sometimes she first throws it out there and doesn’t say anything to me directly, and then I find out about it. You know, I just think she’s not very well informed. And so sometimes she gets in areas where she really hasn’t thought through, maybe. She’s a little ‘Trumpian’ in that.”
“So I don’t have anything against her personally,” Susan continued. “It’s just sometimes I have to say, ‘But you don’t have the information.’”
Andy perhaps summed everything up best when he remarked, “It’s such an unlikely Twitter feud, I have to say, which is why it’s kind of fun.”
Still, it's time we all got back to feuding online over just about anything besides politics, please.
