The Summer House cast member said goodbye to the ’do while filming the Summer House Season 8 reunion in New York City. Host Andy Cohen teased Kyle’s new look in a May 3 Instagram Story, in which he held up a plastic bag containing a lock of blond hair.

“OK, that’s a wrap,” Andy said as he prepared to leave the set. “And I cut Kyle’s mullet. And it’s going in the [Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen] Clubhouse. We need to figure out how to display it, but it’s going there. I kind of botched [the haircut], but you’ll see.”

The Summer House Season 8 reunion will air later this season.

The Loverboy boss agreed to ditch his mullet during his April 11 appearance on WWHL. At one point during the episode, host Andy read a viewer-submitted question about Kyle possibly cutting his hair at the Summer House reunion special.

“Well, you tell me, Andy. Do you own a sharp pair of scissors?” Kyle asked, to which Andy responded, “Yes. Can we do this at the reunion?”

Kyle was all in and sealed the deal with a high-five.

“Not to get sappy on you guys but my grandmother passed away two weeks ago,” Kyle continued. “Pretty much the last thing she said to me was she hates my hair.”

“What was her name?” Andy asked about Kyle’s grandma.

“Mooey. Well, we called her Mooey, but her name’s Betty,” he replied.

“OK Mooey, we got you,” Andy said.

Amanda Batula shared her "plan" for Kyle's hair

Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke at the Watch What Happens Live clubhouse in New York City.

Kyle began growing out his mane in 2022 after years of rocking a clean-cut look. He initially said he would keep the style until his wife, Amanda Batula, demanded he chop it off. But the Maryland native had a much different tune at Bravcon 2023, when he declared the mullet would likely be permanent.

“Is the mullet here to stay?” he asked during a red-carpet interview with Parade magazine. “It’s kind of become very much a part of my brand and the Loverboy brand. So I hate to say it, Amanda, but the mullet is here to stay.”

Amanda was clearly unamused and suggested Kyle cut his hair for a good cause.

“No, my plan is to do some sort of fundraiser where every certain amount of money raised, we cut off a centimeter [of Kyle’s hair],” she said. “I’m hoping we raise enough money that we just shave his head. And then we donate [the money] to charity, to Locks of Love or something important.”
