Jeff Lewis Shares His Honest Thoughts About Real Housewives' Home Decor
The Flipping Out pro gave his feedback on statement pieces in Shannon Storms Beador's house, Lisa Barlow's abode, and Jennifer Aydin's manse.
When Jeff Lewis appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on February 3, Andy put the Flipping Out pro's expertise to use. "While Jeff's mouth sometimes gets him into trouble, his eye for design is always on point," Andy quipped.
With that, the talk-show host asked Jeff to weigh in on some of the design choices that were featured on Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Orange County and Season 1 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
The first piece of decor that came into play: the infamous self-portrait in Shannon Storms Beador's home gym. "Look ... if it was gonna go anywhere, it's gonna go in the gym, or it's gonna go in the garage," Jeff said. "I have a portrait of myself that's in the garage."
Next, Andy asked about the "sparse" decor in Lisa Barlow's children's rooms: "Anything they could do to pump it up a notch?" he asked. Jeff suggested adding paint, art, or perhaps even some wallpaper. "The house is very ... clean, but a little borderline sterile," he opined.
Later, Andy showed the frosted glass stair banister at Meredith Marks' Utah home. Jeff didn't mince his words there: "That's bad. It's bad. That's gotta go." (Admittedly, Meredith herself has said that the decor in the rental house doesn't reflect her personal style.)
Finally, Andy addressed the Real Housewives' throne trend, as seen in Mary Cosby's house and Jennifer Aydin's abode. "I think it's unnecessary," Jeff said. "I mean look, I could certainly have thrones all over my house. But look: I'm sitting in a regular chair."
