Ariana Madix Gives an Update on Her Living Situation with Tom Sandoval (UPDATED)
The Vanderpump Rules cast member reveals her plan for the house she currently shares with her ex.
UPDATED (May 25 10:38 A.M.): Ariana Madix shared more details about her current living arrangement with Tom Sandoval on Part 1 of the Vanderpump Rules Season 10 reunion. “He’s been staying in the guest room, and I avoid run-ins at all costs,” she said during her one-on-one sit-down with host Andy Cohen. “We have people running interference and go-betweens to prevent that.” When the group was together, Tom shared that he’s been living in the house “on and off” since his split from Ariana.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times published on May 24, Ariana explained why it’s easy to avoid seeing Tom in their shared home. “It’s big enough that we don’t have to [see each other],” she said. “I’m in the primary bedroom. If you go upstairs, it’s to the left. And if you go upstairs, and you go all the way down to the right, that’s the guest bedroom. That’s where he’s staying. We communicate with a third party. If he’s at the house, he stays either in the guest bedroom or in the gym. And it’s like, ‘Hey, when is he going to be done with the gym? I need to use it.’ ‘He said he’ll be done at X time.’ ‘OK, cool.’ And then he either goes straight back into the guest room or he leaves. I move about the house a little bit more freely, but I definitely make sure that we don’t cross paths. I might hear footsteps, but that’s about it.”
When asked why she doesn’t want to stay in an Airbnb, she explained, “I can’t afford to do that. I pay a hefty mortgage. We are 50/50 on that. And I’m not going to shell out more money because of someone else’s sh-t. And I have my dog and my cat, and I’m not gonna leave them there by themselves.”

Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval bought their Valley Village house together in 2019. Although their castmates often joked about how long it took them to furnish it, they ultimately created their dream home with pieces like a stunning live green wall installation, a custom-made bedroom credenza equipped with an espresso machine (and a built-in mini-fridge!), chic curtains, and as they told BravoTV.com in 2021, plenty of “cool wallpaper.”
As you can see in the video above, the house also has a cozy living room with a fireplace, a bright white open kitchen, a dining area with art deco–inspired chairs, and an incredible backyard with a stunning pool, a concrete firepit, a cooking area, multiple places to lounge, and an abundance of lush greenery.
Although Ariana and Tom previously told BravoTV.com the house was their “forever home,” following their March split, Ariana recently gave an update on her current living arrangement with Tom and shared what she hopes will happen to their property.

On the May 17 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the titular host asked Ariana, “What’s the plan for your house with Tom?” She responded, “My plan is to sell the house. I want my money out of that house as quickly as possible, and I want to move on.”

Andy followed up by asking, “Are you still both living in the house?” and Ariana said, “Yes.”
The financial details of Ariana & Tom’s house
Tom and Ariana purchased the house in 2019 for just over $2 million. As Vanderpump Rules viewers know, Tom took out a home-equity loan to finance his bar with Tom Schwartz, Schwartz & Sandy’s. Ariana hasn’t shared an update on the finances of their home since viewers watched her support Tom’s decision in Season 9, but on March 8, Lisa Vanderpump was asked to weigh in on the matter during her appearance on WWHL.
Andy asked Lisa on behalf of a viewer, “Do you know if Ariana took your advice and protected her assets when Tom took out the equity of their home in a down market?” The restaurateur replied, “Oh god, I really don’t know about that… I mean, that’s the shame, really, is the fallout of all of this. This is like a 10-, 11-, 12-year relationship. A home together. They’ve got businesses together.”
