Screenwriter William Goldman, 87, passed away Thursday night in his New York City home. His exemplary filmography included many of your favorites: He wrote the scripts for beloved movies like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance KidAll The President's MenThe Princess BrideThe Stepford Wives, and Misery, just to name a few.

"My friend Bill Goldman passed away today," the Bravo's Top Chef host and lead judge wrote in a post on Twitter. "The world knew him as an screenwriter, I knew Bill as the greatest eater ever. #RIPWilliamGoldman." 

What a sweet and personal way to pay tribute to a friend.
