My musical playlist is:
1. "Little L" by Jamiroquai – I love to get the team warmed up with some funky tunes pre-service – dance baby!
2. "The Reeling" by Passion Pit – If we’re playing music during service, I like it to be fast paced and happy; no angry metal allowed.
3. "Lisztomania" by Phoenix – A new band I’m really enjoying – good for the morning run and chopping veggies.
4. "$20" by M.I.A. – Bc sometimes you need some rapper delight w/ a political message.
5. "Gold Lion" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs – A badass tune for banging out tickets – you go girls!
6. "High on Sunday 51" by Aimee Mann – My favorite folk artist – all of her songs tell a story of course, I love my love songs.
7. "E-Bow the Letter" by REM – REM and U2 are my favorite bands – this was written for Patti Smith – Michael Stipe lyricist.
8. "Never Let Me Go" by Bono/U2 – A great, little known spoken-word tune from million dollar hotel – and a hopelessly romantic love song.
9. "Not Dark Yet" by Bob Dylan – A great song to unwind to at the end of a long day in the kitchen – and you can actually understand what he’s saying.
10. "In Spite of Me" by Morphine – An amazing band from my hometown of Boston – the world lost a great artist.
11. “Unravel” by Bjork – Her voice is insane.
12. “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over” by Jeff Buckley – Brilliant songwriter, lost too soon.
13. “Relator” by Pete Yorn – he writes fun, happy music
14. “A New England” by Billy Bragg – My favorite British balladeer.
15. “Born of Frustration” by James – another favorite British band
16. “The Engine Driver” by The Decemberists – a very odd, very interesting band – I like ‘em!
17. “Soul Meets Body” by Death Cab For Cutie – awesome Seattle band.
18. “Animal” by Mike Snow – super cute song, fun to cook too
19. “Ruby Blue” by Roisin Murphey – Great female artist
20. “Misery is a Butterfly” by Blonde Redhead – Another great female artist
21. “Kids” by MGMT – a great cooking song, fun and peppy!
The perfect meal for a romantic night out is ...
Oysters, lobster, foie gras, beef, chocolate
