We often joke about throwing on our “birthday suit,” but The Real Housewives of Dallas' Cary Deuber went ahead and actually did it — and for her 42nd birthday, no less! The stunning mama posted a very tasteful, very raw, black and white nude image of herself on Instagram this week. The photo, in which she's doing a yoga pose, was accompanied by thoughtful reflection on what this special day means to her. Click here to see the photo.
“On birthdays, I always find myself a bit reflective on how I’ve lived my life,” she wrote in the caption. “I’ve learned over the years that some things are important, and others simply aren’t. Paying attention to the right things is what keeps me feeling amazing & looking forward to the years ahead.”
She went on to say that what matters most is ultimately your mind, and the talents and creativity you choose to bring to not just yourself, but to other people around you: “When you learn to tap into this source, you will truly defeat the idea of ‘getting old’ (which sounds especially great today! Haha) I believe that aging is an extraordinary process where you become the person you always should have been. Today, I choose me.”
Amen to that, Cary! While we may not all be brave enough to post a photo of ourselves in our birthday suit, we can definitely take solace in those very wise words.
